My name is Keri Rodrigues and I’m Matthew, Miles and David’s Mom. We’re an awesome family that lives in Somerville, Massachusetts.
Matthew is almost 10 and is an amazing kid who happens to have ADHD and clinical depression. He might only be a fourth-grader, but my struggles to get him the services and education he deserves has led me to my work in education reform and my passion to ensure every child has access to an excellent school.
Miles is 6 and my little love bug. He is currently on the waiting list for a seat at Prospect Hill Academy Charter School.
David is my spunky 5-year-old who attends preschool at Saint Catherine’s School in Somerville.
Doing the Work
I’m a long-time labor activist turned education reform advocate who works with families across the Commonwealth to find their voice at the education table and to put kids back at the center of the conversation.
This blog, my work and my inspiration comes directly from trying to make the world a better place for my three boys. I’m working with other parents and families on the front lines. We’re the ones with skin in the game, we are the ones who can make the biggest impact.
During the day, I’m the founder and executive director of Massachusetts Parents United, a parent advocacy group that brings together parents from across the Commonwealth to fight for safer neighborhoods, stable and secure homes and high-quality education for every child.
